Renowned British architect, Sir Edwin Lutyens, skilfully integrated his signature style into the interior, merging it with the existing 17th-century mansion. They are all ready to assist you in selecting every element required to create your dream wedding. For us at Sinclair Wedding Films, New Place holds a special significance. It served as the venue for Spencer’s sister's prom and the setting for one of his personal projects during his time at Solent University. If you observe closely, you may catch glimpses of this project in the film clips featured on Spencer’s cinematography website.
Notably, New Place Hotel caters to those with a taste for luxury and adventure, offering the option for a grand entrance by helicopter, with designated landing areas available. In 1904, Mrs A. S. Franklyn commissioned the creation of New Place. Inheriting a magnificent early 17th-century mansion in Bristol, which was slated for demolition, Mrs Franklyn sought to build a new residence that would incorporate salvaged elements from the Bristol house. Additionally, she aimed to pay homage to her ancestral ties with William Shakespeare. Hence, she engaged the services of Sir Edwin Lutyens to design a new house, aptly named after the renowned New Place in Stratford-upon-Avon.
Please note that due to its Grade I listed status, the Manor House at New Place does not have lifts. As a result, access to those with walking difficulties is limited to the first floor.
